Jason Heyward, Atlanta Braves Steal One From Washington Nationals

The Jay-Hey Kid came through again tonight.  Jason Heyward, a favorite for the NL Rookie of the Year, hit a double, moved to third on a Chipper Jones sac fly, and stole home on the next pitch.  He’s stealing more than bases these days, however.  He is stealing the thunder right out of the Phillies and Mets.

Not a lot else going on in the MLB world today.

Braves Snap Losing Streak With 3-1Win Over Nationals Wednesday Tim Hudson Again Dominate Over Washington

WASHINGTON — The Atlanta Braves returned to their winning ways beating the Washington Nationals, 3-1, on Wednesday night. The Braves remain 3 1/2 games ahead of second-place Philadelphia in the NL East race. The Phils, behind Roy Halladay, beat Arizona, 7-1.

In top form, Hudson dominates Nats

Tim Hudson continued his mastery of Washington with 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball, Jason Heyward stole home and the Braves beat the Nationals, 3-1, on Wednesday night.

Jason Heyward stole home in the first inning against the Washington Nationals on Wednesday night, the first such theft by a Brave in more than 10 years.

Heyward 1st Braves player to steal home since 2000

Rookie Jason Heyward has become the first member of the Atlanta Braves to steal home in 10 years. While Brian McCann was caught in a rundown, Heyward charged in from third base and slid under the tag of Nationals catcher Ivan Rodriguez in the first inning Wednesday night. The last Braves player to steal home was Rafael Furcal on April 9, 2000, against San Francisco.

Flight delays Clevlen's big league return

The Braves expected outfielder Brent Clevlen to arrive in Washington, D.C., about an hour after Tuesday night's 3-0 loss started. His flight from Atlanta was delayed more than an hour and Clevlen didn't arrive at Nationals Park until the game was nearly over.

Braves send McLouth to Triple-A; extend Ross

Braves outfielder Nate McLouth has been optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett, and outfielder Brent Clevlen has been activated off the 15-day disabled list. The Braves also announced Tuesday that they have agreed to a two-year contract extension with backup catcher David Ross.
